Newman will lead city BZA
Portland Board of Zoning Appeals
A local zoning board has a new chairman.
Lee Newman has been chosen as the chairman of the Portland Board of Zoning Appeals. Ron May served as board chairman in 2009.
In the board's first meeting of the year, Susie Schutz was chosen as vice chairman and Larry Petro was named secretary. Also, Pati McLaughlin was retained as recording secretary and board members voted to keep city attorney Bill Hinkle as the board's legal counsel.
Board members also approved the minutes from the May 12, 2009, meeting.
The meeting was adjourned after three minutes.
The BZA hears appeals on zoning matters within the city limits and within a two-mile jurisdictional area around the city. It meets on the second Tuesday of each month when there is business to conduct.[[In-content Ad]]
