Niekamp agree to new deal
Fort Recovery Schools
FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery Schools' interim superintendent has accepted a new one-year contract from the board of education.
Pat Niekamp, hired in July as interim superintendent after superintendent David Riel left for another job, was offered the contract last week for the 2010-11 school year.
Board members decided to delay their search for a full-time superintendent, and offered the contract to Niekamp.
His current base salary is $73,230. His new 230-day contract will pay him $88,225.
Interim positions are normally only for a few months, but the board members decided to keep Niekamp longer to find a better pool of candidates for the job. School officials hope to hire a new superintendent by June 1, 2011.
Before accepting the interim position, Niekamp worked for the Auglaize County Educational Service Center.[[In-content Ad]]
