No. 2 Flyers hold off Fort (10/20/2008)

NEW BREMEN, Ohio - Down two games to the No. 2 team in the state, the Indians were not dead. But they couldn't keep their tournament run alive.
Fort Recovery High School's volleyball team rallied to force a fifth game against the second-ranked Marion Local Flyers only to run out of gas in a 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 28-30, 15-3 defeat in the Division IV sectional championship match at New Bremen.
Senior Joanna Snyder closed her career with 19 team high of 11 kills and four blocks. She also had 19 digs for the Indians, who finished at 11-13.
Emily May had team bests of 29 digs and 10 points, and Kinsey Wenning matched Snyder with 11 kills. Holly Brunswick scored seven points, and Anne Koesters added four blocks.
Kelsey Wuebker put up 22 assists, and Nicole Pottkotter added 17.
Marion Local (20-3) advances to play host No. 5 New Bremen in the district semifinal round Tuesday. New Bremen (19-4) won its sectional championship Saturday with a four-game win over Minster.[[In-content Ad]]
