No. 3 Rockets too much for FR (09/18/07)

ANNA, Ohio - The Indians came out on the wrong end of another MAC match Monday.

Fort Recovery High School's volleyball team fell 25-9, 25-9, 25-10 to the Midwest Athletic Conference rival and Division III No. 3 Anna Rockets. The Tribe is now 4-6 overall, with five of those losses coming against conference opponents.

Nicole Pottkotter paced the Indians against Anna (9-2, 5-0 MAC) with nine assists and five digs. Emily May had six digs and five blocks.

Kinsey Wenning led the offense with five kills, Sarah Braun added three kills and Kelsey Wuebker scored three points.

Fort Recovery will look for its first conference win again today when it visits Coldwater (6-3, 0-3 MAC) at 6 p.m.

Junior varsity

The Indians improved to 6-1 on the season with a 25-19, 21-25, 25-19 victory over Anna.

Carly Staugler led Fort Recovery with 10 assists and nine points, both of which were team highs. Holly Brunswick followed with eight points to go along with one block.

Chelsey Leuthold totaled nine kills, Josie Guggenbiller notched six kills and Alyssa Brackman paced the defense with 11 digs.

Freshman

FORT RECOVERY - Fort Recovery stayed above .500 with a 25-14, 25-20 victory over the New Bremen Cardinals.

Shelby Brunswick powered the Indians (6-4) with nine points and a pair of kills. Haley Wilson added six points and four kills.

Kendra Brunswick posted team highs of four assists and three kills, and Renee Fortkamp had two digs.[[In-content Ad]]
