No. 6 Parkway eliminates Fort (05/21/08)
FRHS softball
NEW BREMEN, Ohio - This time the Indians managed more than just a single hit. But it was not nearly enough to take down the sixth-ranked team in the state.
Fort Recovery High School's softball season came to a close Tuesday night as the Tribe fell 8-1 to the Division IV No. 6 Parkway Panthers in their district semifinal game hosted by New Bremen.
The Indians (10-17) had just one hit - with two outs in the seventh inning - in their regular-season meeting against Parkway. They lost that game 7-0.
Kelly Sudhoff picked up a pair of hits Tuesday night, Joanna Snyder had an RBI single and LeAnne Tobin singled and scored a run. Val Fortkamp, Heather Schmackers and Kinsey Wenning also had singles in the defeat.
Wenning took the loss, giving up seven runs - five earned - on nine hits. She struck out five and did not walk a batter.
Fort Recovery struggled for much of the season, but had won four of the last five games before falling to the Panthers.[[In-content Ad]]
