No pay hikes for Redkey (9/21/05)
Town workers' salaries to stay steady
REDKEY — The 2006 town budget was unanimously approved in a brief council meeting here Tuesday night. Passage of the budget was the only item on the agenda, as the council’s regular monthly meeting was held the previous night.
The budget does not allow for any pay increases for town employees and totals $400,788, including $273,304 for the town’s general fund, which includes such services as police protection, the office of the clerk-treasurer and most other municipal services.
The town’s net assessed valuation, according to budget documents, is $13.6 million, and the current tax levy figure totals $165,480.
Tuesday was the deadline for approving town budgets in Indiana, according to state statutes.
Voting in favor of the budget were council president Violet Erlenbush and council members Dixie Toy and James Guffey. Council members Dottie Quakenbush and Darrell Smith were not in attendance.[[In-content Ad]]
