Nurse thanked for ER care (09/12/2008)
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On Saturday evening (Sept. 6) I had to take my 5-month-old son to the Jay County Hospital emergency room. He was not feeling the greatest, and as a first-time mom I was very worried. As the nurse took us back to the room, she was very calming.
While she was taking my son's vitals, she was wooing and cooing him to take his attention away from the assessments she had to do. As she rubbed his stomach and whistled at him, my son filled up with a huge smile. It was as though he had known her since he was born.
I would like to take this time to thank her. Deb, thank you so much. Deb is taking classes to become a nurse practitioner and I believe that she will be excellent at it. I would like everyone to know that I had an excellent experience with the ER visit.
Again, Deb, thanks so much for taking care of my son. Also thank you to Dr. Brown, who was the doctor on call.

To the editor:
The Hollow Block Monster Cruisers would like to thank everyone who gave their time or donated to the show.
Thank you to each and every one who attended and supported the show.
Also, we would like to thank WPGW and the staff at The Commercial Review for doing a great job of advertising.
Thanks to Mayor Bruce Hosier and Jeff Harker for their support; Al Confer and the Tri-State Gas Engine Association; and thanks to Greg Franklin for helping us get the power set up for the awesome performance of Blair Carmen.
Thanks to Jerry Fifer and his staff for allowing us to use the Moose Lodge and the great meal they served. And, most of all, thanks to the participants who brought their vehicle to the show to help the 7th annual show be a great success.
We look forward to helping maybe someone you known or a loved one in 2009. We will continue to strive to make the Hollowblock Monster show memorable and help someone locally who is in a crisis situation.
