Olympian joining Comm. Center (1/27/05)

In 2004 I experienced a lot of great opportunities like working for the mayor’s office, making the Olympic team, and getting more involved in the community. More opportunities and changes are underway for me in 2005, also.

One of those changes is that I will be leaving the mayor’s office as Mayor Bruce Hosier’s administrative assistant at the end of January. My experience working for the City of Portland and Mayor Hosier has been fantastic. The city has accomplished a lot during this administration’s first year in office, and I am very thankful to have played a small part in that.

I feel this change in my career will better suit my long-term goals and objectives, so beginning in January I will join the staff at the Jay Community Center. There I will oversee the new fitness center and help with fundraising.

I have always had a real love for fitness and wellness and am looking forward to the opportunity to work in this field at the community center. I wish Mayor Hosier and the City of Portland the best for continued success.
