One race is set for school board

One of three races for Jay School Board will be contested this year, as three candidates will compete for the seat representing Portland.
Incumbent Jim Sanders will face challengers Kristi Betts and Kirk Comer for the District 1 seat on the board. Sanders is seeking his second term as Portland’s representative.
In two other races, incumbents are unopposed.

Board president Greg Wellman was the only candidate to file for the District 6 seat representing Wabash, Noble, Madison and Pike townships.
Mike Masters is unopposed in his bid to keep his District 4 seat, representing Knox Township and Richland Township excluding Dunkirk.
The fall election will be held on Nov. 6.[[In-content Ad]]
