Organizations thank community
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On Oct. 13, the board of directors of the Jayland Rescue Mission adopted a new program titled “Jayland Angel Tree”.
This service was started to assist low-income families with food for the holidays and gifts for needy children. We would like to thank all who donated to this program.
Thanks to all the volunteers who made this work. Without this program many low-income families would have struggled for holiday meals and gifts for their children.
This year’s program was a huge success and we look forward to next year.
We would specifically like to thank the Meijer store in Muncie, FCC Indiana and First Bank of Berne.

Army says thanks
To the editor:
With the holidays behind us, Jay County Salvation Army would like to thank all the volunteers who made this year’s fundraiser a success.
Without you, many who are less fortunate would not receive the help they desperately need.
Thanks to Jac Keller, Katie Clark and all their helpers who organized the high school students.
We would also like to thank our Kettle Coordinator Karin Somers for all the hard work she puts in.
Thanks to Jim Fennig of Walmart for your continued support of the bell ringers.
And to Dave Evers of MainStreet Market for his continued support.
Thank you to the students of Jay County High School and others who braved the cold weather to come out and volunteer their time. And a big thank you to the community for its generosity.
