Parkway rallies vs. Tribe (08/29/2008)

FORT RECOVERY - The Indians won the opening game. They also had a two-games-to-one advantage.
But in the Midwest Athletic Conference, no lead is ever safe.
The Parkway Panthers rallied back Thursday to defeat the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team 17-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13.
Senior Kelsey Wuebker set the pace for the Indians (1-1, 0-1 MAC) with 24 assists. She was second on the team with 10 points.
Kinsey Wenning, also a senior, had 14 kills and four blocks. Anne Koesters scored 11 points, and Nicole Pottkotter added nine kills.
Junior varsity
Olivia Thien had eight digs and six kills as the Indians lost 25-11, 25-15 to slip to 1-1 on the season.
Sarah Knapke had 10 digs and three points, and Carly Staugler finished with 11 assists and a block. Lorraine Shier totaled five kills, and Kendra Brunswick scored three points.
Middle school
GREENVILLE, Ohio - Fort Recovery's eighth graders overcame the Greenville Green Wave 21-25, 25-20, 25-18, but the seventh grade team stayed winless in a 25-6, 26-24 defeat.
Chelsea Pottkotter led the Tribe eighth grade team (2-1) with 11 points, 10 kills and a block, all of which were team highs. Janelle Schwieterman had nine assists and four kills, Amy Link notched four kills and a block and Betsy Wendel added seven points.
Hannah Kaup served seven points for the seventh graders. Morgan Dues had three points and an assist.[[In-content Ad]]
