Pastor's response to gay marriage

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
In response to a guest opinion on April 13 in The Commercial Review by Fort Wayne conservative Republican John McGauley, please allow me to share some things.
“Marriage” is the institution made by Almighty God to bring together a man and a woman. It represents the mystical union that exists between Christ and His church. This is holy wedlock. This is God’s word and it is forever settled in Heaven.
Then, another editorial in The Indianapolis Star (April 27) by a clerk of the North Meadow Circle of Friends states that “Quakers believe the commitment of marriage is between two individuals and God …” George Fox must be turning over in his grave.
And, of course, Leonard Pitts Jr. comments that what the NBA’s Jason Collins (coming out) takes “a particular kind of courage.”
All of us have a will and a desire to believe and love. However, “there is a way that seems right unto man, but the end thereof is death.”
You know what is happening right before our very eyes? I believe the Book of Revelation is unfolding and all these things that were prophesied to happen are happening. Ezekiel 22:23-29 declares “the priests have put no difference between the holy and profane. Neither have they shewed difference between the un-clean and the clean.”
Abominations and sins, no matter it is homosexuality, beastiality, incest, rape, or desecrating the Lord’s Day (Sunday) are only results of turning to and serving “another God.” (Leviticus 17-22).
Second Peter 3: “Knowing this: that there shall come in the last days, scoffers, walking after their own lusts and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? …”
Our Savior Jesus Christ described what it would be like right before his Second Coming (Luke 17:26-30). Noah and Lot’s day is a striking resemblance of America.
Luke 21:28: “When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.”
Our denomination re-ports that 70 percent of priests in their seminaries are gay. Recent polls interviewing another group of ministers showed out of gays in seminaries and pastors of churches, that they (gays) averaged 225 partners in sex while 22 percent of them had more than 500.
As a conservative Holiness Protestant, I protest!
However, we will never gain any souls by “gay-bashing” and being homophobic. Rather we must have compassion on each one, letting them know that Jesus loves them and He died on Calvary’s cross to forgive them and set them free from sin.
“As the church goes, so goes the world,” is the striking realization that the Church, its leaders and members have to take most of the blame. How can preachers pray in their churches for revival when they allow gays to join their churches? How can Protestants boast of anything when they are sleeping through this revolution?
It was also predicted that there would be a “falling away.” It has already happened before our eyes. Hundreds of so-called believers have quit attending the House of God and feel absolutely fine. Yet they have been deceived and have taken part in the falling away.
Let it be known that God’s word is the object of today’s change. But God’s word cannot be changed to fit our new lifestyle. Any sin — gossiping, lying, adultery, rape, whatever — is against a holy God and He will never tolerate it.
Has the Book of Revelation started to unfold? Are we in the Tribulation Period?
Are we getting ready for the distribution of the Mark of the Beast (666)? You make the call.
But while we are sitting in our comfortable and cushioned pews, remember the darkness only comes with the absence of light.
People who have left church, remember, do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some, but as you see the day approaching, even more. Church dropouts, you better get home.
If you have a six-foot icicle for a pastor, pray the fire down on him or her.
Hallelujah. Cheer up you saints of God. You have nothing to worry about. When you see these things come to pass, then look up. The King is coming.
