Plan unit will keep officers
Portland Planning Commission
The same slate of officers will be presiding over the Portland Planning Commission this year.
Board members voted Thursday to retain Vicki Tague as president, Mike Brewster as vice president, and Kent McClung as secretary.
Also, Pati McLaughlin will remain recording secretary and Ron Laux will continue to serve as the board’s appointed member to the Jay County Planning Commission. City attorney Bill Hinkle will again serve as the board’s legal council.
In other business, board members learned that the Jay County Purdue Extension Board must appoint someone to replace John Knipp on the planning commission.
Knipp, who served as a non-voting member of the board, recently retired as extension educator after 22 years of service.
Normally, the extension educator is appointed to the planning commission, but a new educator has not yet been hired. Officials with Purdue Extension said the extension board next meets on Jan. 13.[[In-content Ad]]
