Erin Schmiesing and David Friend are planning an Aug. 4 wedding.
Erin is the daughter of Gary and Cindy Schmiesing, Portland. She graduated from Indiana University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in romance languages and cross-cultural communication and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in tourism management at I.U. She is assistant guest services manager for I.U. Event Services.
David is the son of Michael and Maureen Friend, Fort Wayne. He earned bachelor’s degrees in history and psychology from Indiana University in 2008 and is pursuing a master’s degree in outdoor recreation at I.U. He is employed at Oliver Winery, Bloomington.
