Plans OK'd for Redkey bridge
Jay County Commissioners
Jay County Commissioners will be opening bids at the beginning of March for work to replace a bridge in Redkey.
The commissioners signed off on plans to replace Bridge No. 604, which crosses the Redkey Run ditch at the intersection of East High and South George streets.
The commissioners will open bids for the project at 11 a.m. on March 1.
In other business Monday, the commissioners:
•Reviewed a report on 211 phone service usage in the region.
In Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison and Randolph counties during 2009, 23,593 calls were made to 211. Jay County residents made 340 calls to the 211 service line, which provides community assistance information.
•Signed a quit claim deed transferring a property at 614 N. Williams Street to the City of Portland. A house on the property has been torn down.
•Received a refund check of $749 from Barnum and Brown Insurance for canceling coverage for county volunteers.[[In-content Ad]]
