Poem about holiday season
Editor's Mailbag
By To the editor:-
Christmas has always been a special time to me because it seems like everyone’s “love level” seems to go higher at this time. People seem to care and share more than at any other time of the year.
We celebrate Jesus’ birthday (which we should celebrate every day of the year) and say “Jesus is the reason for the season.”
But why did Jesus come?
God shared this poem with me and I want to share it with all of you.
You Are The Reason
It won’t be long till Christmas again,
That beautiful season of Joy;
When people begin buying gifts,
And Children ask for that special toy.
****
Houses will be decorated
With bright colorful lights;
And the air will be filled with music,
Everywhere there are Christmas sights.
****
I’d always heard since as a child,
That the reason for Christmas is Jesus;
But what is the reason that Jesus came,
If not for humanity’s salvation?
****
Jesus came for you and I,
To save us from our sins;
For if we had not been lost,
We’d have no need for Him!
****
So thank you, Precious Jesus,
For giving up your home;
In heaven up above,
And leaving Your heavenly throne.
****
To come to this earth below,
To teach us and show us the way;
So we can spend life eternal,
With you in Heaven someday.
