Policy set for approval (09/09/2008)
Jay County Commissioners
By By STEVE GARBACZ-
The county's personnel policy will get a few minor fixes and then will be off for approval.
The personnel committee met Monday afternoon to review a nearly-completed draft of the policy. Consultant Kent Irwin, commissioner Milo Miller Jr. and council members Marilyn Coleman and Gerald Kirby took a cursory glance over the draft and discussed a few more updates that will be needed before ratification.
Irwin said he would add information about employee work hours and would need any additional policies from the highway department, as well as regulations for maintaining a Commercial Driver's License.
Overall the committee found little fault with the policy and is ready to get it approved.
Preliminary dates have been set for approval. The policy will likely be presented to the commissioners on Oct. 20 and the county council on Nov. 12 for ratification before being sent to department heads for their approval.[[In-content Ad]]
