Prevention is group's message

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
The Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition wishes to express its thanks and support for the Drug Awareness Week activities presented by the Just Say No Clubs in the Jay School Corporation. It is our hope that someday all students will be able to “Just Say No,” when the opportunity and decision to use and abuse illegal drugs presents itself in their lives.
Students and adults need to stop and think about the potential physical, emotional and financial effects on themselves and their loved ones before they take that first drug and start down that slippery slope toward addiction.
The Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition is here to support prevention programs as well as programs to assist those who are dealing with an addiction. We encourage students to become involved in the Just Say No programs in their local schools. We also welcome members of the community to join the Jay County Drug Prevention Coalition and to attend our monthly meetings held the third Monday of the month at 3:30 p.m., East Jay Middle School.
