Prom committee offers thanks

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
On April 26, the Jay County High School held its annual junior-senior prom. The commons was transformed into a “Night Around the World.” Many students, parents, staff and class sponsors worked very hard to make this a memorable evening.
The junior class prom parent committee would like to thank Christie Sommers and Lori Reese, junior class sponsors, for all of their hard work organizing the prom. Thank you also to the JCHS administration, faculty and staff who attended the prom or helped in some way; Jay County Sheriff’s Department for assisting in the safety of all students and guests; and Karmella VanSkyock, director of food services for Jay School Corporation, for her invaluable help and assistance.
A huge thank you to the many community businesses and organizations that made generous contributions and donations of prizes and money which were greatly appreciated by the students attending the prom. Thank you to the Delta Theta Tau sorority for donating some desserts for our midnight buffet. Thank you for supporting our youth.

Our prom committee worked hard for several months to ensure the evening would be a fun night for all students. Committee chairpersons were: Pat and Chrissy Krieg, Tim and Lora Antrim, Ray and Cindy Newton, Tony and Kristi Pryor, Clay and Sherri McIntire, Jim and Kristen Schoenlein, Tyler and Amy McAbee, Jeff and Terry Burk and Rob and Tami Kaufman. Thank you to these committee chairpersons and all of the parents who assisted these committees.
Finally, thank you to all the students who attended the prom. Hopefully the 2014 “Night Around the World” prom will remain a special part of your high school memories.
Sincerely,
Steve and Jane Prescott
