Prom help, participants thanked

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
On Saturday, April 20, Jay County High School held its annual junior-senior prom.  The commons was transformed into a fun jungle themed dancing area “Born to be Wild.”
Many students, parents, staff and class sponsors worked very hard to make this a memorable evening.
The junior class prom committee would like to thank Christie Sommers and Lori Reese, junior class sponsors, for all of their hard work organizing the prom.
Thank you also to the JCHS administration, faculty and staff who attended the prom or helped in some way; the Jay County Sherriff’s Department for assisting in the safety of all students and guests; Karmella VanSkyock, director of food services for Jay School Corporation and to Mrs. Myers’ Family and Consumer Science Foods class for the wonderful desserts provided.

A huge thank you to the more than 100 community businesses and organizations that made generous contributions and donations of prizes which was greatly appreciated by the students attending the prom. Thank you again, for supporting our youth with your thoughtful donations.
Our prom committee worked hard for several months to ensure the evening would be a fun night for all students.
Committee chairpersons were: Lisa Evans, Carolyn Johnson, Linda Huelskamp, John and Jenny Petro, Doug and Kim Loy, Chrissy Krieg, Karin Somers, Lisa Vogler and Jeri Bost.
Thank you to our committee chairpersons and all of the parents who assisted these chair committees.
Finally, thank you to all the students who attended and behaved so well at the prom. Hopefully the 2013 “Born to be Wild” prom will remain a special part of your high school memories.
Sincerely,
Cindy Cash, Regina Dunlavy, Tisha Gierhart and Pam Hutchinson — 2013 Prom Parent Committee Chairs[[In-content Ad]]
