Put Eads back to work
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
This letter is in regards to the recent school board meeting and Mike Eads. It seems the Jay School Board is reluctant to resolve this matter. The legal end has been closed and no further action will be taken, so what is the delay?
This apparent lack of action has me questioning the competence and the ability of the school board to resolve this matter in a timely fashion. Regardless of the outcome, this incident will follow Mike Eads the rest of his life. Does the school board not understand this (or even care)?
By allowing this fiasco to continue unresolved, the individuals of the school board and the school board as a whole have allowed themselves to become just as guilty of slander as Mike's accuser.
As for the "job offer" Dr. Long gave to Mike Eads, well that is an insult (pay aside) and I don't blame Mike for turning it down. It would appear as though someone on the school board has a selfish and childish grudge (not very professional) against Mike Eads. Mike is by nature not a vengeful person. However, I would not blame him for seeking legal action against the school board.
Mike loves what he does and has dedicated his entire life to education. At his hour of need, the school board turns their back on him. I personally challenge the school board to make this right for Mike and put him where he belongs - back behind his desk at General Shanks.
In closing, let me say that it has come to my attention that at least four of the school board members are up for re-election this year, and I am a registered voter. Think about it.

To those who sold tickets at your place of business, made them available at places of employment or went out and sold tickets after putting in a busy and tiring day at work, thank you.
Last but not least, a huge thank you for those who donated money or purchased tickets. Without your donation or ticket purchase this would never have been a success because without "U" you cannot spell success.
The grand total for this much-needed benefit was $10,146.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. We must say thank you again for the kindness and generosity you have shown.
