Put stop to regional government (01/27/2009)
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The hidden agenda deals with former Gov. Joe Kernan and Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard reports - appointing county sheriffs; do away with three county commissioners and establish a single-person county executive; county executive appoints county auditor, treasurer, recorder, assessor, surveyor, sheriff and coroner to county executive control.
This is a regionalism blueprint for dictatorship pure and simple. Regional revolutionaries at the state house have targeted county government for extinction because counties constitute the greatest potential challenge to the misuse of authority by a central authority in Washington. The objective is to eliminate local elected officials by canceling local government bodies that have been elected by we the people.
There are more than 3,000 county governments in the United States. Each is a self-contained lawful authority charged with doing whatever is necessary to apprehend, try and punish criminals. The sheriff, county judges and county commissioners are local chieftains sworn to defend and preserve the Constitution of the United States. County offices were specifically placed in the state constitution so that Indiana citizens would have a voice in the implementation of state laws. Therefore, each elected official is accountable to the voter. Placing county government under the control of a single county executive would invite corruption and a dictatorship.
The sheriff is empowered to deputize every able-bodied man in his or her county to enforce the provisions of the U.S. Constitution within the bounds of his or her county and defend life and property during time of crisis. This is the only universal military conscription we have known in peacetime in the United States until 1939. The federal regional establishment has no hope of coping with half of the counties in the land if they ever decide to enforce the U.S. Constitution as they are lawfully charged with doing.
Each elected official is accountable to the people, from whom flow all political powers, and are responsible for instructing their governor, state senators and representatives to challenge unconstitutional acts against the U.S. Constitution (Article 4, Section 4): "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this Union a republican form of government." (Republic - representatives elected by the people, as they are required to do so by oath of office). The state must do this by a positive act, by investigation of violations, and subsequent passage of a state statute, which will enforce Article 4, Section 4 of the constitution.
The stark truth is that America is now passing from a constitutional republic into a regional socialistic government, which is the age-old dream of those who have mastered the science of control over people.
The most secret knowledge, a science which outdates history, is the science of control over people. Through the control of wealth comes control of public information and the necessities of life. Through the control of news media comes thought control. Through the control of basic necessities comes direct physical control of people.
You are commissioned as a citizen of Indiana to speak out against those who want to change our form of government to a regional socialistic government by calling or writing your governor, state senator and state representative. The address is: Indiana State House, Indianapolis, IN, 46204.
Thank you very much.
As I see it.
