Questioning integrity of Hutchison

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
I am a Jay County voter and I was appalled at the way Judge Hutchison conducted himself at the Jay County Chamber of Commerce’s meet the candidate night. I didn’t believe it was possible for one person to be so condescending and rude. And he is our elected circuit court judge.
Judge Hutchison says he has integrity. Is integrity threatening people and calling people out for putting a Jill Gonzalez sign in their yard or posting on Facebook to vote for her? Is saying your law school is better than her law school and trying to make personal attacks on your opponent integrity? If it is, then we as a county have a big problem.
I, for one, am tired of all the personal attacks. Judge Hutchison sounded desperate just like he did on the radio Saturday. Does he really think the people of Jay County are stupid?
Why would a respectful judge try and involve attorneys that have to practice in front of him? I would think that no matter what their politics, attorneys and employees in the courthouse would not want to be drug into this political drama he has created.
Judges should be above the low-down dirty tactics that Judge Hutchison has been pulling. Maybe we should ask the people out there who have appeared in front of him or their families who is the better candidate. Their livelihood wouldn’t be affected by their answer.
It is my opinion that Judge Hutchison is not fair. He is biased and shows very little integrity from his actions during the campaign. The way he has conducted himself and that is also how he treats people and their families who appear before him in court.
Jay County, if you want a fair judge who will treat people with respect, vote for Jill Gonzalez on election day.
Respectfully,
Justin Garrett

Questions
To the editor:
As a citizen of Jay County, I would like to know why Judge (Brian) Hutchison is allowed to threaten people for freedom of speech and supporting his opponent?
I believe Jill Gonzalez will be fair and impartial, which is something we have not had for the past 12 years.
I went before Judge Hutchison and I did not like his decision, but that is not the intent of this letter. Judge Hutchison claims one of his strong points is his integrity?
If threatening citizens of Jay County is integrity, then I think we have a problem.
