Quotes given for Web work
Jay County Commissioners
After hearing a presentation Monday morning, the Jay County Commissioners received two quotes for work to overhaul the county Web site.
The commissioners heard an expansive presentation from Mark Clemens, Clemens Communications, and Angie Williams, Inspired by Angie, and received a price for their proposed total overhaul of the county site of $5,900.
Clemens and Williams would create a new site using a Content Management System engine, which would operate similarly to a page such as The Portland Foundation's.
The commissioners also spoke with Craig Frazee of Dynamic Business Solutions, who also offered a quote for services to improve the county Web site. His services, which would include updates and improvements and hosting, would cost about $2,500 with a business maintenance service package included.
The commissioners briefly discussed their options Monday, stating they want a site for the county that would be effective in attracting new businesses or residents to the area. They also said that some planning will be necessary to decide what content should be on the site and how it should be presented.
In other business Monday, the commissioners:
•Were informed by Jay County Emergency Management Agency director Ralph Frazee that one of his reimbursable grants currently has a negative balance.

If the money is not received by Wednesday, Frazee told the commissioners he will need to make an inter-fund loan.
Frazee also informed the commissioners that funding for the county GIS is about to expire. The commissioners told him to reapply for the grant.
The commissioners also made Frazee purchasing agent to buy a new pickup truck. He will purchase a 2006 Ford from Ken Kunkle for $12,800.
•Made Jay County surveyor Brad Daniels purchasing agent to buy three new computers for his office at a cost not to exceed $2,500.
