Reader has issues with columnist
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
It gets old opening my Commercial Review and being verbally assaulted with another hate drenched diatribe by self anointed hate policeman Leonard Pitts. I have read more hate speech in one of his articles than I have heard in 20 years of listing to conservative talk radio or Fox News.
His recent attack on Glen Beck was half a page of personal insults without one word of factual basis.
Beck is scary, but the scariest thing about him is that the left can only insult him. They can’t challenge what he actually says because it is true.
He twice called Limbaugh racist on the basis of a handful of phrases found on-line and taken out of context from over 20,000 hours of airtime. If he actually listened to the man he would know he is not racist.
He claimed Fox was not factual on the basis of a half dozen technical errors from several thousand hours of airtime, some by guests.
If you actually want both sides of the news you have to watch Fox.
He tells me I hate Hispanics because I favor increased legal immigration, but oppose illegal immigration. I support Tea Party principles so I must hate Obama because he is black. My God tells me to hate the sin and love the sinner so I must hate gays.
I would call on The Commercial Review to honor its own editorial policy against personal attacks and find a columnist with real journalist ethics and principled wisdom.

Fifteen students and eight teachers from the Jay School Corporation need the help of Jay County residents. These individuals have the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to China next spring. Although several fundraisers have been planned, one grant opportunity has been found which would pay all of the travel expenses for everyone involved. In order to receive this grant, we need your help.
Pepsi Cola is funding ideas that are awarded based on the number of votes each idea receives. This is where the residents of Jay County can help. It is very simple to vote and will take you only minutes. If you can take a few minutes each day in August (or even just once or twice) it could make all the difference for all of the students and teachers involved.
Here are the instructions:
Log on to www.refresheverything.com.
Click on “Browse ideas & vote.”
A blue toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen. The first time you will need to click “Join Refresh Everything.” After that, just click on “Sign-in.”
You will be sent back to the original screen. Click on “Browse ideas & vote.”
There will be a small white search box at the top of the screen. Type CHINA in the box and enter.
Send 20/25 students/teachers to sister school in China …” will appear. Clock on the “Vote for this idea” button on the right side.
Return every day in the month of August and follow these instructions. If everyone in Jay County and everyone they now does this, then we have an excellent chance of receiving this grant.
Thank you so much for your help. We can’t do this without you.
