Ready to walk

The Jay County Cancer Society would like to thank The Portland Foundation for the generous grant we received recently. The grant provided a phone line and P.O. Box for the society so that we may be more easily contacted. We are pleased that the phone line and P.O. Box have been popular and have increased our presence in Jay County. The 2004 Walk Against Cancer is scheduled for Friday, May 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Jay County High School track.

This year’s activities include a Celebration of Life dinner for cancer survivors, concessions, a kids area and a luminary service at 8 p.m. Flyers with more information and pledge forms will be available at the Jay County Public Library and Jay County Hospital after April 9.

The Jay County Cancer Society provides financial support to our local patients during their treatment and subsequent recovery. We would not be able to provide this much-needed support without the generosity of Jay County residents and businesses.
