Response to letter on 'kooks'
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I am writing in response to Doris Nash’s letter (published on Friday, Sept. 17). Mrs. Nash, please don’t cancel your subscription to The Commercial Review. How else would we have know about your family and their service in our country’s armed forces? We are grateful to you and them, and we need to be reminded of the sacrifices others have made for our freedom.
On the other hand, I’m sick and tired of the name-calling we hear on the television. Obviously you have picked up the bad habit, although I personally don’t mind being called a “left-wing kook.” In fact, I could say, “I’m proud of it.”
I love Leonard Pitts’ column. He is one of the sanest men living today.
So, there you are. No name-calling. Just wanted you to know, though, to be perfectly honest, I thought of a few I might have used.
Sincerely,
Bev Priest
