The Indiana Tech men’s track team won its first outdoor conference title Saturday. Brandon Reynard played a key role in the victory.
The 2009 Jay County High School graduate won the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference title in the 400-meter hurdles and contributed to a relay championship to help power the Warriors to their 265-point effort.
Indiana Tech won the title by nearly 100 points over second-place Aquinas.
Reynard led a dominant Warrior effort in his signature event, winning the 400 hurdles in 53.35 seconds. He was more than a half-second ahead of runner-up Ryan Versen of Cornerstone, with Indiana Tech teammates in third, fourth and fifth places.
The senior teamed with Dareyus Person, Robert Rose and Austen Barnes to win the WHAC title in the 4x400 relay in 3 minutes, 13.4 seconds. He was also 11th in the 100 dash in 11.25.
