Ridgeville receives grant (05/15/07)
RIDGEVILLE - More than a half million dollars in grant money awarded to the town will help improve its wastewater system.
Announced this weekend, the town received a $525,000 Community Focus Fund grant to replace the clarifier at the wastewater treatment plant, which was built in 1963. The clarifier, which separates solids from liquids, has never been replaced.
The town is required to pay a $143,000 match for the grant.
Town officials will travel to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs in Indianapolis on May 31 to accept the federally funded grant.
The project is projected to start in late summer.
To meet qualifications for the grant, Ridgeville Town Council approved a $2 a month sewer and water increase for town residents in February. The increase will be on bills received in July.[[In-content Ad]]
