Rigby helps IUE bounce back

A Jay County High School graduate helped the Indiana University East men’s basketball team bounce back from its first loss of the season.
Tyler Rigby, JCHS class of 2006, was one of four Red Wolves in double figures Tuesday, finishing with 17 points in their 107-83 thrashing of Asbury. IU East had dropped its previous game to IU Southeast.
Rigby finished 7-of-11 from the field against Asbury with three 3-pointers. He added three rebounds, three blocks and an assist.
The senior also totaled 14 points, three assists and two boards Saturday in the Red Wolves’ 109-77 loss to IU Southeast. He ranks fifth in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 24th in NAIA Division II in scoring at 19.9 points per game.
Pazia Speed
Jay County - 2010
Helped the Huntington University women’s basketball team to a 75-64 victory Wednesday over Goshen.
Speed went 3-of-4 from the field and hit both of her 3-point attempts to finish with eight points. She also had three assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Joanna Snyder
Fort Recovery – 2009
Finished with nine points Saturday for the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team in a 66-56 loss to NCAA Division III Mount Union.
Snyder hit one 3-pointer and both of her free throws in the first Ohio Athletic Conference loss for the Polar Bears (11-3, 6-1). She also had three rebounds and two assists.

Greg Kahlig
Fort Recovery – 2010
Scored two points in the University of Findlay men’s basketball team’s 91-68 loss to Wayne State.
Kahlig scored both of his points at the free throw line for the Oilers, who entered the game undefeated and ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II. He also had two rebounds and a steal.
Findlay (12-1, 5-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) dropped to eighth in the most recent Division II poll.[[In-content Ad]]
