Collegiate Check-up

A Jay County High School graduate led the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in free-throw percentage, helping lead to his selection to the all-conference team.

Tyler Rigby (2006) was one of two members of the IU-East men's basketball team to be honored by the KIAC.

The sophomore played in 32 games this year, finishing as the top foul shooter in the KIAC with a 77-percent mark. He finished second in the league with 81 3-pointers, and was third in scoring with 17 points per game.

He also had 114 rebounds, 53 assists, 36 steals and nine blocks this season.

Josh Shatto

Helped the IPFW baseball team to its second win of the year Sunday, a 15-6 victory over Albany at the Caravell Resort Tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina.

Shatto started and tossed two scoreless innings before getting touched for three runs in the third and three more in the fourth. He left the game with an 11-6 lead.

Shatto allowed six runs on six hits and five walks in three innings of work. He had four strikeouts.

Josh Ludy

Jay County - 2008

Connected for another double as the sixth-ranked Baylor University baseball team rolled to a 14-4 victory March 6 over South Alabama.

Ludy entered the game as a pinch-hitter for designated hitter Dan Evatt. He ripped a double, which was one of 12 hits for the Bears in the victory.

In limited action thus far, Ludy is 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run.

Josh Atkinson

Jay County - 2006

Recorded the save March 5 as the Manchester College baseball team defeated Wilkes 9-5.
