Roessner leads FR runners (09/18/2008)

MINSTER, Ohio - Only one Indian runner placed in the top five Tuesday in cross country action at Minster.

Fort Recovery High School's girls team finished third out of five teams, and the boys were last.

Tina Roessner set the pace for the Tribe. The senior placed eighth in 20-minutes, 16 seconds.

Sophomore Alexis Sutter finished in 21:52 for 21st place, and Abby Huelskamp was 25th in 22:24. Amber Heitkamp placed 29th in 22:43, and Casey Backs was 31st in 22:53.

Ryan Heitkamp was the only runner in the top 30 for the FRHS boys as he finished 26th in 18:31, and Caleb Heitkamp placed 36th in 19:45. Mathias Koester was 45th in 20:42 followed by Zach Guggenbiller (52nd - 22:03) and Adam Pohl (54th - 22:34).

Middle school

Nathan Fullenkamp and Josh Pohl powered the Fort Recovery boys team first place out of four teams. The Indians were second in the four-team girls field.

Fullenkamp and Pohl went one-two, finishing in times of 11:41 and 11:43 respectively. Marshall Hull gave the Tribe a third runner in the top 10 in ninth at 12:52, Calvin Kaiser was 11th at 13:04 and Holden Heitkamp finished 20th in 13:47.

Abby May was third for the Fort Recovery girls in 13:02, and Samantha Tobe placed ninth at 13:30. Jessica Vogel finished 12th in 14:02 followed by Elle Sutter (19th - 14:55) and Emily Kahlig (34th - 17:20).[[In-content Ad]]
