Roessner sixth at regional

TROY, Ohio - Tina Roessner was the 3,200-meter district champion. Her regional time was even better.
The Fort Recovery High School senior improved upon her district performance as she ended her career with a sixth-place finish Friday at the Division III track regional meet hosted by Troy.
Roessner barely missed breaking the 12-minute barrier by finishing the 3,200 run in 12-minutes, 3.11 seconds, more than 13 seconds faster than at the district meet. She was nine seconds ahead of seventh-place finisher Carly Orndorff of Franklin Monroe.
The top four athletes in each event advanced to the state finals. Versailles' Mary Prakel picked up the final qualifying spot in 11:54.87.
The Indians also got a seventh-place finish in the high jump from Holly Brunswick on the opening day of the meet Wednesday. They scored five points, placing them 32nd out of 38 scoring teams.[[In-content Ad]]
