Roughia, Foresters win as invitational hosts (10/14/06)

A Jay County graduated helped the Huntington University women's cross country team win its lone home meet of the season.

Jill Roughia, a 2005 JCHS graduate, was among the top five runners as the Foresters won the E. DeWitt Baker Invitational with 28 points. Bethel finished second with 32, followed by Marian (71) and St. Francis (97)

Roughia capped the Huntington team scored by placing 12th overall in a time of 21-minutes, four seconds.

Jenny Gresla

South Adams - 2003

Had more than 40 assists in each of her last two matches as the Denison University women's volleyball team continued its season-best winning streak.

Gresla racked up 57 assists for the Big Red, which has now won six matches in a row to improve to 12-8, in a 30-18, 30-27, 30-19 win over Ohio Wesleyan Oct. 6.

She added 44 assists in a 30-21, 30-27, 30-28 victory over Earlham Tuesday.

Adam Foster

Jay County - 2005

Finished 43rd for the University of St. Francis men's golf team at the Mid-Central Conference Championship at Blackthorn Golf Course in South Bend.

Foster shot an opening-round 91 Oct. 2 before bouncing back for an 84 a day later.

The Cougars placed seventh out of nine teams.

Joscie Kaup

Fort Recovery - 2004

Came up with 20 digs as she and the Syracuse women's volleyball team visiting Notre Dame Sunday.

Kaup's defensive effort in the 30-25, 30-22, 30-22 loss to the Fighting Irish pushed her season total to 442 digs.

She is now just 47 short of second place on the Orange all-time digs list and needs 126 more in 12 remaining matches this year to break the school's single-season record.

She also had 12 digs, one ace and one assist in a 30-23, 30-22, 24-30, 30-18 win over DePaul Oct. 7.[[In-content Ad]]
