Collegiate Check-up
A Jay County High School graduate led the Huntington University women's cross country team Oct. 18 at the Manchester College Invitational.
Jill Roughia, a 2005 JCHS graduate, turned in the top time for the Foresters. She finished 32nd overall in 25-minutes, 7 seconds.
Huntington finished 10th out of 12 teams at the event.
Tiff Gaerke

Totaled eight kills in each of the last two matches for the University of Dayton volleyball team.
Gaerke's eight kills came in victories over Rhode Island Oct. 17 and Fordham Oct. 18. She also had three digs and three blocks against Rhode Island, and came up with three digs in the three-game win over Fordham.

Both ran in the top five for the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's cross country team, which finished fourth out of 23 teams Oct. 17 at the Wilmington Fall Classic.
Ian Thomas ran the second-best time for the Engineers. He finished in 26-minutes, 5 seconds, just seven seconds behind team leader Stephen Boedicker.
Mitchell Thomas, Ian's twin brother, was Rose-Hulman's No. 4 runner. He placed 37th overall in 26:43.
Joseph Vormohr

Started at right guard Oct. 18 as the Hanover College football team lost 37-19 to Mount St. Joseph.
Vormohr blocked for quarterback Nick Sharp, who tossed for 476 yards. He and the rest of the offensive line did not allow a sack.[[In-content Ad]]
