Rude behavior

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

I was outside of our local grocery store on Saturday, Jan. 17 and heard an older man screaming and yelling at a young woman. As I got closer I observed a police vehicle and the girl then was talking to the police officer.

The young girl then proceeded to go inside Dollar General, which is where I was headed next. The young girl is an employee in there, and I spoke to her as to what just happened.

She said that the man was parked in the fire lane with his vehicle running. When the officer asked the man to move he became irate and came into the store yelling at the employees.

This man must not have any respect for authority because there are signs posted everywhere stating, “No Parking.” This is a simple law to follow and he is lucky that the police officer gave him a warning and not a ticket that is over $100 including court costs.

The people who work in there should not have to smell or ingest the fumes from someone’s exhaust who is parked out there in the fire lane. This can not be healthy for them.

People need to follow simple laws and everyone else’s life would be much better.

As to the guy who caused this scene, I hope that you are reading this so that you were in the wrong, and not anyone else.

Thank you.
