SAHS students honored
Created water-purifying system
Students at South Adams High School who created a water-purification system for Haiti were honored Thursday by the Indiana House of Representatives.
South Adams raised $43,000 and developed a device capable of purifying 55 gallons of water a minute, powered by a 12-volt battery. Five of the devices were delivered to Haiti in June 2011.
While in Haiti, the South Adams group encountered House Speaker Brian Bosma, who was there on a mission trip with his son.
The water-purification project grew out of science teacher Michael Baer’s classes.[[In-content Ad]]
