Jason D. Holt

Aug. 23, 1978-May 10, 2009

Jason D. Holt, 30, Winchester, the son of a Ridgeville woman and sibling to other area residents, died Sunday in Walterboro, S.C. in a motorcycle accident.

Born in Union City he married Angi (Partin) Hinshaw, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Jacob Holt, a daughter, Kalista Holt; his father; mother, Jeanie Dull, Ridgeville; a sister, Angi Stevenson, Saratoga; two half-brothers; and several grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Mark Need officiating.

Visitation for friends and relatives will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Dress for visitation will be casual.

Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, is in charge of the arrangements.

Phylis Hutchison

Feb. 12, 1916-May14, 2009

Phylis Marceil Hutchison, 93, Portland, a former Redkey resident, died Thursday at Persimmon Ridge, Portland.

She was born in Redkey to Edna Hodge and graduated from Redkey High School in 1934. She attended Indiana University and married Cleon Hutchison on Dec. 31, 1941. He died on May 16, 2005.

She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the Halfway Chapter No. 230 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Redkey, the Stitch and Chatter Quilt Club, Portland, and the Susana Wesley Group. She and her husband owned and operated Hutchison's Insurance Agency in Redkey for many years.

Survivors include a son, Robert A. Hutchison, Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Pete (Ruth Ann) Fleming, Lighthouse Pointe, Fla.; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland. Burial of the cremains will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey.

Robert Urick

Jan. 1, 1926-May 15, 2009

Robert L. "Red" Urick, 83, Dunkirk, died Friday morning at his residence.

He was born in Dunkirk to Herman and B. Grace (Waggoner) Urick. He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II. He was retired from Armstrong Glass/Kerr Glass, Dunkirk, where he was a mold maker.

He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1776, American Legion Post No. 227, VFW Post No. 7081, the Dunkirk Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Dunkirk, and The Muncie Coin and Stamp Club.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary M. (Tucker); a daughter, Mrs. Dave (Rebecca) Dixon, Muncie; two sons, Robert Urick, Portland, and Matthew Urick, Dunkirk; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday at MJS Mortuaries-Dunkirk Chapel, with the Rev. Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.

Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 227, Dunkirk. VFW Post No. 7081, Dunkirk, will assist.

Calling hours are Monday from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
