Schemenaur will run for prosecutor
Democrat Wesley A. Schemenaur, who has served as chief deputy prosecutor in Jay County since 2007, said today he plans to run for the office held by his boss, Robert Clamme.
Clamme has said he will not run for re-election.
Schemenaur, who joined the county prosecutor's office staff in 2006 on a part-time basis handling child support and criminal matters, lives in rural Portland.
Prior to becoming a deputy prosecutor, Schemenaur was in private practice in Celina, Ohio, in civil litigation and criminal defense.

A graduate of Jay County High School, Schemenaur also graduated from Ball State University and the Petit College of Law at Ohio Northern University.
He is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Ohio, and the Northern and Southern Districts of U.S. District Court.
He is a member of the board of directors for United Way of Jay County and Bellefountaine United Methodist Church, and is a member of Portland Rotary Club.
He and wife Christina have one son.
Filing for major party candidates for the 2010 primary election begins Wednesday. The primary election will be held Tuesday, May 4, with the general/school board election on Tuesday, Nov. 2.[[In-content Ad]]
