See you at the fair

It’s here.
The Jay County Fair — one of the highlights of the summer calendar — is upon us.
And despite a steamy and stormy weather outlook, our guess is it will be one of the best ever.
Why? Because so many people are involved.
Young people with 4-H projects have put in countless hours of effort. Whether it’s a photography project or raising livestock, the kids have been at it. And this week gives them a chance to strut their stuff.
Scores of 4-H leaders have done yeoman duty guiding and directing the young people, and they’ll work their hearts out this week.
Service clubs are cooking up their specialties, local industry and local merchants have put together displays, and Jay County’s non-profit organizations will be using the fair to get their message out.
Toss in big name entertainment, demolition derbies, a first-rate midway, and harness racing and you’ve got an unbeatable recipe for a successful fair.
In fact, you’ve got a fair that ranks as one of the best in the state of Indiana.
If it’s been a few years since you attended a Jay County Fair, you’re missing something. Take time this week to check it out.
The fair’s a great way to reconnect with your community, renewing old friendships, and making new ones.
See you there. — J.R.[[In-content Ad]]
