Monday seemed to be the day for township officials to file for the May primary election as seven candidates filed paperwork in the office of Jay County Clerk Jane Ann Runyon.
Filing for Jackson Township trustee was Paul D. Pinkerton, 5341 West 400 North, Portland, Republican, and for Richland Township assessor, Dixie Mumbower, 270 E. Commerce St., Dunkirk, Democrat.
Filing for township advisory boards were: Duane P. Monroe, 6593 West 300 South, Portland, Republican, for Jefferson Township; Alvin Rodney Cassel, 3380 West 200 North, Portland, Democrat, for Greene Township; Philllip H. Cowan, 1661 West 650 South, Portland, Republican, for Jackson Township; P. Charlene Theurer, 7032 South 700 East, Union City, Democrat, for Madison Township; and Ricky A. Loy, 8645 East 50 North, Portland, Republican, for Noble Township.
