FRHS volleyball
ST. HENRY, Ohio - Nicole Pottkotter did it all. But the Indians still fell short.
The junior led the Fort Recovery High School volleyball team in four statistical categories Tuesday only to have the Tribe fall 26-24, 25-20, 24-26, 25-21 to the St. Henry Redskins.
Pottkotter was alone in leading the Indians with 21 assists, 19 digs and 16 points. She also shared the team high of nine kills with Anne Koesters, who added eight blocks.
Kelsey Wuebker added 13 assists and 10 points, and Joanna Snyder had 15 digs.
The loss dropped the Indians back below .500 at 10-11. They are 2-6 in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
Junior varsity
Fort Recovery rallied for a 16-25, 25-23, 25-13 victory over the Redskins.
Olivia Thien powered the Indians with 12 kills, five digs, four points and three blocks. Carly Staugler racked up 21 points, and Shelby Brunswick and Lauren Staugler each had four kills.
Sarah Knakpe totaled six digs, and Kendra Brunswick added five.
Middle school
FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery eighth graders ran their record to 11-4 with a 25-18, 25-15 victory over the New Bremen Cardinals. The seventh graders remained winless as they fell 25-11, 25-8.
Chelsea Pottkotter's 11 points, five kills and two assists led the eighth grade Indians. Janelle Schwieterman had eight points and two assists, and Amy Link added four kills.
Hannah Kaup had three digs and two points for the Tribe's seventh grade squad. Sierra Pugh scored three points, and Jackie Fullenkamp had two points and an assist.
