Shuttleworth to step down (01/14/2009)
Fort Recovery School Board
FORT RECOVERY - School board members accepted the retirement resignation of Fort Recovery Middle School principal Ted Shuttleworth Tuesday night.
Shuttleworth, a former director of the Fort Recovery High School band, will retire effective Aug. 1.
In other business, the board elected Jack Staugler as president and Steve Wendel as vice president and set regular meetings for 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
Board members congratulated teachers Becky Link and Jill Walter for achieving Master Teacher status and thanked Tom and Mary Pat Zitter, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, and Second National Bank for a number of donations to Fort Recovery schools.
Last week, Fort schools announced the elimination of a bus route due to the departure of a driver.
In an effort to cut costs, a driver who left for another job was not replaced, and 35 students from bus No. 5 are being picked up by other buses.
Shuttleworth said last week that delays in bus routes were attributed to road conditions.[[In-content Ad]]
