Catherine Capps and Matthew Smith are planning an Oct. 18 wedding at Barber Oberwortmann Horticulture Center in Joliet, Ill.
Catherine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Denzil R. Capps Jr., Minooka, Ill. She is a graduate of Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Ill. and is employed at Jewel Foods in Lockport, Ill.
Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Smith, Portland. He is a graduate of Jay County High School and earned a bachelor's degree in computers from Westwood College in Woodridge, Ill. He is in the United States Air Force, stationed in Grand Forks, N.D..
