A Fort Recovery graduate led the Ohio Northern women’s basketball team to its 10th victory Wednesday.
Joanna Snyder, FRHS class of 2009, posted a game-high 12 points as the Polar Bears improved to 10-1 with a 55-37 victory over Eastern Connecticut. They are off to the best start in school history.
Snyder shot 50 percent from the field and went 2-for-2 from 3-point range at 2-for-2 at the foul line. She added three rebounds and a steal.
In a 65-51 win Dec. 22 over Capital, Snyder had seven points, two rebounds, one block and one assist. The sophomore is averaging 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, leads Ohio Northern in blocks (five) and is shooting 52 percent from the field and 85 percent (17-of-20) at the free-throw line.

Paced the NCAA Division II No. 2 University of Findlay men’s basketball team in an 88-49 victory Wednesday over Southwestern.
Kahlig hit a pair of 3-pointers as he led the Oilers in scoring for the fourth straight game with 18 points. He also had four rebounds and an assist.
The freshman has averaged 20 points over Findlay’s last four games as the team has run its record to 11-0. He ranks third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in free-throw shooting at 89 percent (24-of-27).[[In-content Ad]]
