Snyder scores 17 for ONU

A Fort Recovery High School graduate led the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team to the championship as the host of the Thanksgiving Classic.
Joanna Snyder, a 2009 FRHS graduate, racked up 17 points as the Polar Bears defeated Ohio Wesleyan 64-42 Sunday in the tournament title game.
Snyder was on fire from the field, shooing 7-of-11 en route to her game-high scoring total. She also had two rebounds, two assists and a block in ONU’s third straight win.
The junior had 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals Nov. 22 in a 60-55 victory over Kenyon. She totaled five points, seven assists, four rebounds and two blocks Saturday as the Polar Bears (5-1) topped Saint Mary’s 68-64 in the opening round of the Thanksgiving Classic.
For the season, Snyder is averaging 10.5 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 92 percent from the free-throw line.

Turned in a dominant scoring effort Nov. 22 to lead the NCAA Division II No. 13 University of Findlay men’s basketball team to a 90-84 victory over Cedarville.
Kahlig racked up 26 points, leading Findlay to a 54-percent shooting effort by hitting 10-of-14 from the field.
He also had four rebounds, four steals and three assists for the Oilers.
The sophomore added seven points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal Monday in a 77-57 triumph over Springfield.

Jay County – 2010
Was the No. 2 scorer for the Huntington University women’s basketball team Nov. 22 in its 68-65 victory over St. Francis.
Speed hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished 3-for-3 at the foul line on the way to scoring 17 points. She added three rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Foresters improved to 4-2.
Nick Teeter
South Adams – 2010
Shared the team high in scoring Nov. 22 in the Huntington University men’s basketball team’s 81-74 loss to St. Francis.
Teeter hit three of his four field goals from long distance, finishing with 13 points. He also had two rebounds and one assist.
The sophomore notched five rebounds and three assists Saturday in an 84-67 victory over Kuyper.
Erin Hunt
Jay County – 2011
Played for the Bethel College women’s basketball team in Wednesday’s 77-43 victory over Goshen.
Hunt saw five minutes of action in the win, which improved the Pilots to 9-1 on the year.[[In-content Ad]]
