All four South Adams graduates who are now members of the Bluffton University track team scored third-place finishes at Defiance College’s Dick Small Invitational March 25.

A sophomore from South Adams, she was part of a massive sixth-inning rally which gave the University of St. Francis softball team a double-header split against Bethel College Wednesday.
Nichols hit the second of three consecutive doubles to open the sixth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. The Cougars went on to score eight times in the frame to win by a 9-1 mercy rule after losing 13-5 in the opener.
She went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in the first game of a double-header sweep over Huntington College. The wins came by scores of 9-5 and 5-1.
She also drove in the lone Cougar run with a sacrifice fly in the second of a pair of losses to Tiffin Monday.
St. Francis is 6-13, but 5-1 in the Mid-Central Conference.
Kerri McClung
The Jay County graduate picked up one of the Falcons’ four victories as the Bowling Green women’s track placed third at the Western Michigan University Invitational March 27.
McClung, a fifth-year senior, took first in the shot put with a toss of 14.02 meters (46 feet).
She was also second in the hammer throw.
