Pazia Speed bounced back strong.
Coming off of her worst shooting game of the season four days earlier, the 2010 Jay County High School graduate hit for 78 percent Wednesday in the Huntington University women’s basketball team’s 84-41 thrashing of Goshen.
Speed lit up the scoreboard in a hurry Wednesday as she tallied eight of the Foresters’ first 12 points.
After scoring just one point Saturday in a 48-46 win over Spring Arbor, she nailed four of her five 3-point attempts against Goshen and finished 7-of-9 from the field for 18 points. She also had two steals, one rebound and one assist.
The sophomore totaled nine points, three assists and three steals Jan. 5 in a one-point win over Mount Vernon Nazarene, and had two rebounds, one assist and one steals against Spring Arbor.
Speed leads Huntington (12-5) in scoring at 12.9 points per game and is shooting nearly 38 percent from 3-point range.

Scored 20 points Jan. 5 in the NCAA Division II No. 18 University of Findlay men’s basketball team’s 94-80 loss to Ashland.
Kahlig shot 7-of-11 and made all of his four free throws on the way to his game-high total. He also had one rebound and one assist for the Oilers (11-3).
The sophomore finished with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in Sunday’s 68-63 victory over Wayne State.
Nick Teeter
South Adams – 2010
Has become the top scoring weapon off the bench for the NAIA Division II No. 22 Huntington University men’s basketball team.
After scoring a career-high 19 points against Indiana Wesleyan in the first game of 2012, Teeter added double-figure efforts in two of the next three games. He shot 6-of-8 from the field for 17 points Tuesday in a 64-62 loss to Goshen, and also scored 12 points Saturday in an 81-71 victory over Spring Arbor.
The sophomore added five rebounds, one assist and one steal for the Foresters (12-7) on Tuesday, and had five rebounds and three assists against Spring Arbor. He notched eight points, two assists and one rebound Jan. 5 in a 76-67 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Kendra Brunswick
Fort Recovery – 2011
Made a strong return from the holiday break, to help the Edison Community College women’s basketball team to victory.
Brunswick went 5-of-6 from long distance as the Chargers (10-3), who had been off since Dec. 22, defeated the Wittenberg junior varsity team 71-48. She finished with 17 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Joanna Snyder
Fort Recovery – 2009
Helped the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team to a 72-60 victory Wednesday over Wilmington.
Snyder shot 50 percent from the field and finished with seven points. She added six rebounds, two assists and two blocks for the Polar Bears (12-3).
