Stein scores 10 in loss to Hanover (12/15/07)

Holly Stein reached double figures again Dec. 8, but it wasn't enough as her Defiance College women's basketball team fell 77-64 to Hanover.

Stein, a 2007 Fort Recovery High School graduate, has reached double digit scoring in four of her first five collegiate games. The latest came with 10 points, including a 3-for-3 effort at the foul line, against Hanover.

She also had four rebounds and one assist in the defeat.

The freshman is averaging a team-high 13 points per game for the Yellow Jacks (2-3) and shooting 85 percent (23-of-27) from the free-throw line. She is second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game, and also has 10 steals and 10 assists.

Finished with one rebound and one assist as the NCAA Division II No. 9 University of Findlay men's basketball team lost a top-10 battle to second-ranked Grand Valley State 82-60.

Niekamp, a senior, is averaging 2.4 points in 12.3 minutes of action this season for the Oilers (5-2).

He also averages 2.1 rebounds to go along with seven assists and three steals through seven games.[[In-content Ad]]
