Stories bring back memories
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I read Mr. Kinser’s assessment of J.R.’s articles in The CR and found them to be spot on.
In my opinion it’s a shame the common sense approach displayed by J.R. concerning our state’s problems is sadly lacking by our overpaid so-called leaders.
The other side of Mr. Kinser’s letter concerned Rick Zehringer/Derringer, whichever your desire, Eldora Park, where Francis Leise’s band held sway, the Triangle, which may have been the Old Blue Mill, and the little club in Celina, Ohio, which was probably the Porthole, the Rathskeller at the C&B restaurant.
I remember Rick’s band performing at the V.F. W. located on West Main Street where the east side of the present day Pickles is located. It was easy to see, even in their tender teens, that they were going to be special.
Thanks to J.R. and Mr. Kinser for re-awakening some pleasant memories of days long past.
